While all eyes were focused on Wednesday's cabinet session, where the new electoral law was supposed to be discussed, approved and referred to the Parliament to pass it, the session's agenda came without including the item pertaining to the electoral law.
An initial agreement was recently reached over a new electoral law that adopts the proportionality system based on Lebanon divided into 15 electoral constituencies. The political parties have been holding talks to finalize the details related to the law.
