Kanaan: We tend to have parliamentary polls in October
Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan said on Tuesday that the bloc supports any nearest chance of holding the parliamentary elections.
His remarks were made following a weekly meeting with the parliamentary bloc whereby he called for October elections.
"We support holding elections at the earliest time possible," Kanaan told the reporters. "We lean towards holding them in October," he added.
"Dividing the country into 15 constituencies is indispensable for correct representation and for coexistence," Kanaan noted.

Kanaan also said called for a 40 percent preferential vote for candidates, meaning that they would require at least 40 percent of their votes to be from their own sects.
