If you decide to cross Jounieh highway, in either directions, make sure to keep left, since the right side of the highway is for shoppers, not drivers.
If you drive on the right side, you can stop anytime you want to buy anything you need. There are malls, supermarkets, clothes shops, auto shops as well as kiosks all along the road.
However, Interim Governor of Mount Lebanon Mansour Daou saw only the kiosks when he decided to apply the law without basing his decision on any study in this regard.
Therefore, he issued a decision to cancel any approval issued to open a kiosk or other similar establishment on public or private property, informing their owners of the need to remove them within a deadline that does not exceed one week.
The governor said that the applications to open a kiosk are numerous, adding that the decision aims at regulating the work of these booths and legalize what the law allows, while at the same time reducing the traffic jams caused by them.
