REPORT: Calm prevails over Arsal after intense fighting
Calm prevailed on Saturday over the border town of Arsal after a night of intense fighting in the locality.

The Lebanese army is tightening its grips over all entrances of the town, while Hezbollah fighters have settled 50% of the battle.

This as Hizbullah fighters secured gains as they caught the hills of Wadi al-Khayl and al-Qanzah.

Sources told LBCI that mediation efforts are still ongoing in order to ensure the withdrawal of the Fatah al-Sham fighters from Wadi al-Khayl.

Hezbollah also seized full control of Jwar al-Sheikh, Wadi Kraydi, al-Dalil al-Abdyad and Serj Qwaiys in the outskirts.

Meanwhile, a large number of Jabhat Fatah al-Sham gunmen raised white flags in Wadi Al-Khail indicating they are surrendering.

Moreover, the Lebanese army said that Ahmad al-Fliti, Arsal’s former deputy-mayor who was serving as negotiator between Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and Hezbollah was killed by a rocket.
