Kataeb party chief MP Samy Gemayel declared that “the issue today is not with the Lebanese army, but will the political decision that paralyses the army and prevent it from ending the battle.”
During a ceremony in Bechmezzine, Gemayel asked: “Who decided that coward criminals should be evacuated, those who committed crimes against the Lebanese army? Who allowed them to flee and return to their country?”
“Is it the Lebanese government that decided to send them out without trial and without accountability? Has the Lebanese judiciary approved a decision to stop chasing them?” he continued.
Gemayel noted that if the current cabinet has resigned its main role to defend Lebanon and maintain its sovereignty and stability, it must resign completely and allow another authority to take on the responsibility.
