The Future parliamentary bloc praised the national victory accomplished by the Lebanese Armed Forces in the liberation of the mountainous towns of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa from terrorists.
Following its weekly meeting, the bloc strongly condemned the misleading position taken by Hezbollah regarding the final stage of the heroic offensive launched by the Lebanese army against the terrorist group Islamic State in the mountainous towns of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa.
“Hezbollah tried, through the speech of its secretary general, to drag the Lebanese government into a public cooperation with the Syrian regime while the Shiite party and the Syrian regime were negotiating with the Islamic State regarding the remains of the martyr soldiers, at the sidelines of the negotiations aiming at recuperating their members held in captivity and the bodies of their dead ones, including the body of an Iranian Revolutionary Guards member, according to Fars news agency. By that, Hezbollah made a deal with the Islamic State to recover the bodies of its fighters in exchange for the safe exit of the members of the Islamic State guaranteed by the Syrian regime. This comes as Hezbollah had strongly opposed any form of negotiations for the release of the abducted Lebanese soldiers in 2014,” the bloc’s statement said.
It also added that “Hezbollah revealed to the Lebanese people by this misleading position that its priorities are the party’s own interests, as well as that of Iran and the Syrian regime, not those of the Lebanese people,” stressing that the events of the past couple of days showed the truth about Hezbollah that fears the reinforcement of the Lebanese Army and the strengthening of the government wanting it to remain weak and vulnerable under the wings of Hezbollah and dictations of Iran."
