REPORT: Cabinet reaches agreement over pay scale crisis

A Cabinet session presided by Prime Minister Saad Hariri was held on Friday during which the government reached an agreement to put an end for the salary scale crisis.

Speaking after the session, Hariri said that the ministers agreed on an expedited draft law with tax amendments. The Cabinet also agreed on an auditing formula that would pave the way for the budget’s endorsement.

The session, which was held at the Grand Serail, was aimed to tackle the legal measures needed to resolve the pay scale crisis and the tax hike law.

At the beginning of the session, Hariri thanked everyone “for their deployed efforts in order to find solutions for the pay scale.”

He also called on everyone to work “on solving that the daily problems of the Lebanese citizens.”
