Mufti Derian meets US ambassador Richard

Grand Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian received on Wednesday at Dar Al Fatwa the US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard.

During the meeting, Derian said that the Lebanese people are keen on strengthening their solidarity in order to guarantee the country’s stability facing all sorts of terrorism.

“This was showcased in the victory made by the Lebanese army in the outskirts of Arsal,” he added.

Mufti Derian also noted that “most of the political, security and economic issues can only be achieved by consensus and understanding,"

On another note, Derian stressed that Lebanon enjoys an amicable relations with foreign and Arab countries “that respect its freedom, sovereignty and its decisions and do not meddle in its affairs.”

He concluded by highlighting that Israel is Lebanon’s enemy and occupier of Palestine.
