The Palestinian factions and the “Popular Committees in the North” staged a protest in Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, expressing rejection and condemnation over the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The Secretary of the “Popular Committee” Abou Firas Miaari expressed anger over “the Arab League that remained silent over Trump’s ominous declaration,” calling on the Palestinian leadership to abstain from returning to the negotiations and to abolish all agreements with the enemy.
He also called for raising the banner of liberation and armed struggle to liberate the land and cleansing Jerusalem from occupation.
He declared mourning at the camp, urging everyone to attend the urgent meeting scheduled to be held at the Popular Committee’s headquarters in order to put in place a program for weekly movements to face the conspiracies aiming at ending the Palestinian cause.
In the north Lebanon camp of Beddawi, refugees took to the streets on Wednesday night in a rally of rage, hoisting Palestinian flags and chanting anti-Trump slogans.
Strike is declared at all Palestinian refugee camps across Lebanon, upon the call of the Palestinian political leadership in Lebanon.
