REPORT: Truth behind suggesting “Abu Dis” as capital of Palestine

After Trump’s decision on Wednesday to name Jerusalem the capital of Israel, Abu Dis, a Palestinian village bordering Jerusalem, was suggested by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be the capital of Palestine for its strategic location, according to Israeli media.

Abu Dis has been suggested since the 1990s for being the closest to West Jerusalem and adjacent to East Jerusalem.

Israel put in its plans to name the village the capital of Palestine, after the Palestinian Authorities established a building for the Legislative Council there, which was never used.
