Minister of State for Refugees Affairs Mouin al-Merhebi called on the concerned ministries, particularly the ministry of social affairs to do what is necessary to provide the refugees with alternative camps in East Bekaa, after they received several warnings from the Lebanese army to evacuate their camps eight months ago since they are located near army bases.
In a statement, the minister said that the army had issued warnings to the residents of around 240 to 300 tents in east Bekaa villages, calling on them to evacuate for security reasons.
He urged the cabinet to tackle said issue during upcoming session, in terms of finding alternative places for those refugees and redistribute them in cooperation with the concerned United Nations agencies.
