Deputy Wael Abou Faour, in a joint conference with Agriculture Minister Ghazi Zoaiter on Tuesday, called for reviewing the agriculture products and assigning observers.
Abou Faour affirmed that the decision made concerning the agriculture products is based on scientific criteria.
“We will follow up on this matter with the Minister of Agriculture, and we hope that the government reconsiders the committee that was formed,” Abou Faour added.
From his side, Minister Zoaiter confirmed that the agriculture products are of “high quality.”
“The committee of scientific observation is aware of everything, and we will not allow anything to detriment the public health,” pointed out Zoaiter.
He also reiterated: “We will take immediate action in the event of proving that anything is threatening the citizen’s health. The scientific committee is studying the agricultural products and is informing the Minister of it.”
Zoaiter also affirmed that, “the relation between Speaker Nabih Berri and Deputy Walid Jumblatt is strong even with their different opinions.”
