Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil attended meeting of the International Coalition against Daesh held in Kuwait, in the presence of Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the Foreign Ministers of 44 states out of 74 states and organizations participating in the coalition, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations.
During his speech at the meeting, Bassil said that Daesh’s defeat by Lebanon was based on three foundations including a national army, a diversified and moderate society and a successful preemptive policy for dismantling terrorist networks.
He also called on the countries participating in Rome 2 conference that will be held on March 15th and which is dedicated to support the Lebanese army and the security forces.
“Terrorism will not end until a road will be opened for the refugees to return; terrorism will continue to threaten our countries and your countries across the Mediterranean unless you accept that integration is only valid when it is collective when the people adapt to the new conditions in their country, not by getting integrated in another country,” he added.
