Major General Serra meets with Lebanese officials

The UNIFIL command in Naqoura said on Friday that UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major-General Paolo Serra met with Speaker Nabih Berri, PM Najib Mikati and Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn.

Issues related to the implementation of UNIFIL's mandate under UN Security Council resolution 1701 were discussed, with particular focus on cooperation between UNIFIL and the Lebanese Armed Forces.

During his meetings, General Serra said that the mission have maintained strong relations with the people of south Lebanon, assuring of continuity in UNIFIL’s operations and commitment to Lebanon and to the mandate under resolution 1701, along with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
