REPORT: Armenian PM tours Lebanese officials

Prime Minister Saad Hariri held on Monday talks with his Armenian counterpart Karen Karapetyan over the latest developments in Lebanon and in the entire region, and ways to boost the relations between the two countries.

In a joint press conference with Hariri, Karapetyan said that it was agreed to discuss the possibility of establishing of a joint fund to support initiatives, stressing that he invited Hariri to visit Armenia.

For his part, Hariri stressed the importance of relations with Armenia.

“We agreed on necessity of enhancing relations between the two countries in various sectors,” Hariri concluded by saying.

Later in the day, the Armenian PM met with President Michel Aoun in the Baabda Presidential Palace.

Aoun expressed his pleasure for the activation of agreements between the countries after his visit to Armenia.

For his part, the Armenian PM said that the Joint Higher Committee will soon resume its meetings after a long absence.
