Assir: Assad criminal and his followers “Shabiha of pigs”

Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir, the Imam of Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque in Sidon, described Syrian President Bashar Assad as “criminal” and his followers as “Shabiha of pigs”, saluting the “heroes that raised our heads high in Idlib, Baba Amro and Homs.”

Assir described Assad, Maher, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Interior Minister Sergei Lavrov as “vampires and criminals”.

Addressing the Syrian opposition, Assir said “your adherence to justice foiled many projects, mainly the hoax of the resistance and the lie of the criminal international community”.

On a separate note, Assir called for the swift release of the Lebanese hostages in Syria.   

Sheikh Assir did not rule out a military intervention in Syria by the international community "when Assad’s end nears in order to shell the Syrian rebels under the pretext that they are affiliated with al-Qaeda".    

Assir stressed that there will be no sectarian war in Lebanon. “We want to live in peace with our Christian and Shiite partners in Lebanon”, he added.
