REPORT: Aoun calls for turning promises of Intl community into practical steps

President Michel Aoun called on Monday for turning the promises that Lebanon received from the International community into practical steps.

He also called for opening the markets of European countries for the Lebanese exports.

Aoun’s comments were made during a meeting with European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

For his part, Hahn said that aid offered to Lebanon to deal with the Syrian refugees influx “are not enough,” stressing however that the EU will continue to work on strengthening this support.
