REPORT: BDL Governor to LBCI: Statements about bankruptcy are only political biddings

Banque Du Liban Governor Riyad Salameh asserted on Wednesday that statements about the state’s bankruptcy are only political biddings.

“The Lebanese currency is safe and there is no crisis,” Salameh added on the sidelines of an annual meeting of the Union of Arab Securities held in Beirut.

Salameh also stressed that Lebanon is safe because it has “high assets in foreign currency, the banking sector has liquidity, capital and capitalization.”

He concluded by saying that there is a lot of investors who believe in investing in Lebanon.
