President Michel Aoun praised the members of the Red Cross in general and the Lebanese in particular, on the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, the founder of International Committee of the Red Cross.
The president acclaimed the volunteers and relief workers of the Red Cross who risked their lives and were martyred to rescue the people without discriminating between race, religion and nationality, noting that the new parliament will follow up on a draft law presented to consider any Red Cross member who dies on duty as a martyr.
On this annual occasion, Aoun called on all the Lebanese people to help this humanitarian organization and provide it with the needed financial and moral support, “for its mission is comprehensive and does not stop at geographical borders.”
