Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that “our daily battle is to work on ensure the refugees’ return to their land and our common responsibility is to take the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of their return.”
During a joint press conference with his Belgian counterpart, Bassil said that “what they have been doing is not enough at a time when a real battle is needed against these organizations that murder and displace in the name of God, and against the countries and entities that support them.”
Answering a question on the reason for refusing to adopt his paper on refugees in the Lebanese cabinet, Bassil regretted the fact that the issue of the refugees is a matter of controversy on the local and foreign scenes between two points of view on means to handle the issue.
