The Constitutional Council decided Monday to abolish 7 articles from the State’s Budget, including the Article 49, which grants the foreigners residence permits in Lebanon if they owned apartments.
The decision came after Kataeb party chief along with nine other deputies filed a petition challenging said article.
The Constitutional Council abstained from abolishing the budget as a whole, given the fragileness of the financial situation in Lebanon.
The 7 articles abolished by the council are 14, 26, 35, 43, 49, 51 and 52.
