The state-run National News Agency reported on Tuesday that the Maritime Rescue Service of the Lebanese Civil Defense was able to save a civilian who was diving in Halat.
He was stuck in the middle of the sea because he lost the fishing boat he was on with four other sailors after a sudden malfunction in the boat’s engine occurred when the diver was away from it.
The waves then swept the boat 5 kilometers away from Halat to Okaibe.
A group of the Maritime Rescue Service helped the civilian to return safely to the coast, while another group worked on finding the lost boat.
Once they found it, they pulled it to the Okaibe beach and they made sure the other sailors were in good health.
