Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri rejected the notion of a cabinet of the majority, noting that he received 112 votes to be designated with forming a cabinet of national unity.
“If they wanted to blame me for hindering the formation process, let them do so, the people will realized who is to blame,” he added.
In a chat with journalists at Beit al-Wasat, Hariri stressed that the obstacles delaying the formation are fabricated by those who are complicating things, pointing out that some of the demands are rightful.
He emphasized that no escalation has come from the part of the president, reiterating that the only criteria is that the national partnership.
Commenting on visiting Syria, the PM-designate stressed that he will not visit the neighboring state. “You will never see me in Syria, even if the whole equation in the region overturns,” he asserted.
On caretaker Minister Gebran Bassil’s meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri, Hariri said that any reconciliation serves the interest of the country and the work within the government and the parliament.
On his meeting with Bassil, he explained that “there has not yet been a chance to meet with Bassil.”
On another note, the PM-designate denied reports stating that he will be traveling tomorrow on a vacation.
