Yemeni forces foil plot to carry out 10 suicide bombings in Sana’a

Yemeni security forces have foiled a plot to carry out 10 suicide bombings against government buildings in the capital Sana’a, the defense ministry reported on Monday.

The security forces arrested 10 terrorist suicide bombers affiliated with al-Qaeda, the ministry explained.

Al-Qaeda is trying to hit back after a two-month Yemeni military offensive drove the militants out of several main strongholds in the south. Al-Qaeda took advantage of internal turmoil and a security vacuum to capture parts of southern Yemen.
