A fire erupted on Wednesday on the outskirts of the town of al-Soueisa in Akkar, expanding at a rate which has so far reached olive trees and almond groves. Civil defense teams, along with the town’s residents are tirelessly attempting to put it out. The fire caused severe damage to surrounding properties as well. Dry northeast winds didnt help, but on the contrary aided the flare making it difficult to put it out. Civil defense vehicles were not able to reach the point of origin as no roads lead to the source of the inderno.
