Sources following up on the cabinet formation process said Wednesday that the formula presented by Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to President Michel Aoun is fair and includes concessions from all the parties, noting that Hariri is awaiting another meeting with Aoun to listen to his remarks and proposals.
The sources said that Hariri handed over the proposed formula and left, but the reactions launched by “Strong Lebanon Bloc” and the leaks from the Presidential Palace can only be described as unacceptable, adding that there are attempts to escalate the political situation, which could harm the formation process.
The same sources pointed out that “there are experts who are attempting to break the relation between the president and the PM-designate, who will not be dragged into this plot,” stressing that discussion with the president are the only way to find solutions.
On another note, sources from the Baabda palace stated that President Aoun informed Hariri of his remarks during the meeting, noting that Hariri informed him that he will hold talks with concerned parties and will return or further talks with the president.
