Geagea: Lebanon can never be fully developed as long as “Hezbollah’s statelet” persists

A group of Lebanese-American youth visited head of Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea on Saturday at his residence in Meehrab where he alerted them to the eminent danger posed on the state and its institutions by Hezbollah's arms.

"We as Lebanese continue to live in the shadow of a state which has not fully developed...but is still a work in progress," Geagea stated.

He insisted that the Taef Accord acted as a constitution organizing the Lebanese state.

"Hezbollah is the only party which went against Taef Accord, and remained armed, to act as a strategic tool in the service of Syrian and Iranian politics in the region."

The armament of Hezbollah gave it the advantages of determining war and peace in Lebanon. Hence, according to Geagea, the Lebanese state could never develop fully as long as the “statelet of Hezbollah persisted”.
