Sheikh al-Assir denies clashes with security forces
Sheikh of the Imam Bilal Bin Rabbah Mosque Ahmad al-Assir denied being involved in clashes with security forces during the re-opening of the road that link Beirut’s road to the western boulevard via the Bahaa Eddine Hariri Mosque.

“We cut off this road again after reopening it, upon the request of the owners of car showrooms; however, when it turned out it was reopened to encircle us, we closed it once again”, al-Assir added.

Sheikh Omar Bakri participated in the sit-in on Saturday and stressed that if Sheikh al-Assir asked him to hold a similar sit-in in Tripoli or in any other region, he will not hesitate to do it.

On another note, MP Bahia Hariri hosted a meeting at the residence of late Rafic Hariri in Majdelyoun under the slogan “the people wants to save national unity” on the occasion of the first anniversary of the “government of political isolation”.
