Caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil left Beirut on Sunday morning heading to the United States.
Bassil is set to kick off his tour in Boston where he will meet with Lebanese expatriates, before moving to New York to take part in the United Nations General Assembly, with the Lebanese delegation headed by President Michel Aoun. The minister is also scheduled to hold talks with officials and diplomats on the sidelines of the conference.
Within the framework of his visit to the US, Bassil will deliver a lecture at Princeton University on the return of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and will hold a meeting to discuss the repercussions of the US decision to cut the funding of the UNRWA and means to protect the right to return.
Bassil will also meet with the Lebanese expatriates in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
