Koura candidates face-off in Nharkom Said

SSNP candidate Walid al-Azar confirmed via Nharkom Said on LBCI Tuesday that he is ready to take on the election battle come this Sunday adding that he does not require promotion by the media.            

His program includes the establishment of secularism, civil governance and creating awareness among the people in knowing their systematic rights, adding that the SSNP has an inclusive plan for the entire country.                 

Commenting on the LF, al-Azar stated that the latter does not represent the entire facets of the Koura area and that its nomination comes within the context of facing its own rivals in the March 14th bloc.               

As for the competing candidate Fady Karam, representing the LF, he said that his party yields stronger support in Koura, adding that they are not relying on Sunni votes to take on the win. “We are calling for real governance and institutions while the SSNP is placing the Lebanese people as hostages in the hands of the Syrian Regime and the Guardianship of Islamic Jurists a.k.a “Wilayat al-Fakih”.                 

Commenting on accusations that target him with bribing voters, Karam stated that those allegations are all false. The Koura subsidiary elections will take place this Sunday. Six candidates are running for the parliamentarian race alongside Karam and al-Azar. The elections were called for following the death of late MP Farid Habib after which the Orthodox seat became vacant.
