Caretaker Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani declared Monday that a new mechanism is being developed for the pricing of medicine through shortening the period of the repricing process, which will include 3340 types of medicines out of 5000 registered in the Lebanese market, stressing that sanctions will be imposed on companies that delay in informing of a medicine’s price reduction in the manufacturing country.
In a conference launching the national awareness campaign on iron deficiency, the minister noted that the reduction of drug prices is a gradual and scientific process, adding that if they launched random mechanisms, they might harm the sector.
