A group of civil society activists marched from Beirut’s Martyrs Square towards the port of Beirut as a symbolic movement to call on officials to resolve the crises affecting the living conditions of the Lebanese people.
The protesters said that they will return from the port towards Riad al-Solh, outside the Grand Serail to stage a symbolic sit-in.
The Lebanese Armed Forces accompanied the protesters in order to maintain security and to protect the public properties, amid a deployment of anti-riot security forces.
The protesters chanted slogans calling for implementing the health card project and putting an end to unemployment.
It was apparent that the number of demonstrators decreased compared with Sunday’s protests, since only dozens of activists participated in the rally.
