Hasbani vows radical change in prices of medications in 2019

Caretaker Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani declared Thursday that 249 thousand admissions to hospitals at the expense of the Health Ministry took place in 2018.

During a press conference, Hasbani noted that zero death at the doors of a hospital has been registered during the past year.

He also stressed that the ministry did not receive any complaint about failing to admit patients into emergency during the holidays, praising the efforts of the medical crew and the Lebanese Red Cross.

Hasbani pointed out that in 2018, the prices of 1130 types of medication have been reevaluated, while the prices of 523 others have been reduced, revealing that the plan for the next year will involve more medications during the first months.

Speaking of the health card, he said: “The health card project reached the General Authority for Legislation and work is underway so that the infrastructure will be ready on time.”

In this context, the minister revealed that two cosmetic clinics have been closed the past week, at which a Turkish crew used to work illegally.

He also noted that another clinic has been closed Wednesday, where illegal abortions used to be performed.
