Meeting in Baabda to discuss handing over communications data

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman headed on Saturday a meeting with PM Najib Mikati, a number of ministers, security apparatuses’ chiefs and competent legal authorities. During the meeting, the officials will discuss the apparatuses’’ needs and the possibility of handing over the communications data.

Saturday's meeting came in follow-up to a previous one held at the Grand Serail on July 11th under PM Meqati which tackled the same issue. Accordingly, it was decided to provide security apparatuses with needed information and data to meet their demands. A session was also scheduled on the 30th of the current month in order to asses the feasibility of the measures adopted in today's meeting.
