Hassan Khalil from Baabda: Work ongoing to reduce deficit

Caretaker Minister of Finance Ali Hassan Khalil stressed on Thursday the need to focus on accelerating the formation of a new Cabinet.

His comments were made after meeting President Michel Aoun with MP Ibrahim Kanaan at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

On another note, the minister stressed that work is ongoing to reduce the deficit and to adopt a new course of reform on the financial level.

For his part, Kanaan stressed that the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit gave Lebanon a big boost after a number of countries expressed their desire to help.

He also said that the first project that the newly formed government will work is the adoption of the state’s Budget.
