President Michel Aoun received Thursday MP Fouad Makhzoumi, who congratulated the president on the formation of the cabinet, hoping that it follows a new approach.
Following the meeting with at Baabda palace, Makhzoumi said that the country is in urgent need for an effective government that puts an end to crises, calling for governmental solidarity away from debates.
He also stressed the need to work on a clear road map in dealing with the issue of the refugees, pointing out that the relations with Syria serve Lebanon’s interest in the first place and paves the way for Lebanon to participate in the reconstruction of Syria.
The MP stated that the refugee crisis must move towards a solution, adding that an important portion of Cedre loans will be allocated to guarantee jobs for the refugees. He also emphasized that the Lebanese youth must also benefit from the $11 billion.
“We granted the cabinet a conditional confidence with a trail period of 6 months, because we know that the country’s conditions require great efforts, especially on the economic level,” MP Makhzoumi said.
