Bou Saab meets Lassen, Grindlay and Kubis
Defense Minister Elias Bou Saab held talks on Friday with the European Union Ambassador Christina Lassen, who expressed EU’s will to work on promoting cooperation with the Lebanese army and the Ministry of Defense.

Lassen also hailed the achievements of the military institution in addressing the ongoing security threats.

For his part, Minster Bou Saab thanked the EU for its permanent support to the Lebanese army and its ongoing support to Lebanon in dealing with the refugee crisis, stressing that enhancing relations between the army and the EU is one of his top priorities.

Later in the day, Bou Saab received in his office Australian Ambassador to Lebanon Rebecca Grindlay with talks tackling the current political and security situation in Lebanon and the region.

Grindlay congratulated the Lebanese army for its huge success it achieved in preserving Lebanon’s security and stability, reiterating Australia's commitment to supporting the Lebanese army.

Also, Bou Saab met with the Special Coordinator of the UN Secretary General in Lebanon Jan Kubis.
Discussions reportedly featured high over the security situation in the region, Lebanon's commitment to implement UN Security Council Resolution no. 1701 and seeking to develop the army's capabilities, mainly the Lebanese navy.
