EDL's administrative board to hold meeting on Saturday

The director general of Electricité du Liban (EDL) called on the company’s administrative board to hold a meeting on Saturday August 4, at the temporary headquarters of the administration at Zouk power plant. The meeting is expected to tackle the latest developments regarding the company, and take the necessary decisions such as moving back to the EDL's original headquarters.
The company called on its employees working at the company's central headquarters all the closed branches to continue their subscriptions at the nearest branch, in the wait of news instructions.

EDL contract workers had been protesting for months calling on the government to employ them as full-time staff and to pay their salaries. Their protests have included shutting the gates of EDL headquarters in Beirut and disrupting normal work at the state-run company.
