Rai: Lebanon needs impartial persons to address public affairs
Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai said on Sunday that “Lebanon needs a renaissance in its people, its leaders and its structures, to accompany modernity and globalization and contribute to regional stability, for it reaches the real Arab spring. For these reasons, management of public affairs in Lebanon must be assumed by impartial persons, who dismiss the personal interests and the material benefits”.

Rai noted in his homily Sunday that the call made last Wednesday by Maronite bishops sought to warn Lebanese officials of the extent of the socio-economic crisis, describing it as a threat of the collapse of Lebanon.
