Bassil from Ain el-Tineh: It is high time to adopt an extraordinary Budget

Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil said on Friday that he explained to Speaker Nabih Berri his ideas about the draft Budget, stressing that there is a consensus on that "time has come to approve an extraordinary Budget."

Bassil’s comments were made after meeting with Berri in Ain el-Tineh whereby he noted that fighting corruption and making real reforms are essential in order to convince the public opinion that we are heading toward a serious Budget with austerity measures.

On another note, Bassil stressed that banking sector is still solid, pointing out to the need to "stop inflation in the size of debt and smuggling.”

This as the minister said that stances are unified with Berri about the maritime and land borders.

As for the oil and gas wealth, Bassil stressed that Israel can never reach our wealth.
