Known as "the patriarch of the second independence", Maronite Patriarch Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir served as the 76th Patriarch of the Maronite Catholic Church.
He was elected Patriarch of Antioch for the Maronite on 27 April 1986, until his resignation on 26 February 2011.
