The Palestinian cause topped the concluding statement of the 14th Islamic Summit held in Mecaa, in Saudi Arabia.
More than 10 items focused on Palestine and the Palestinian people’s right to decide its fate and establish the independent state of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as capital, as well as the need to protect the refugees’ right to return.
The statement also denounced the recent attacks that targeted Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Lebanon, the delegation of which was headed by PM Saad Hariri, also had a slot in the summit’s final statement that stressed solidarity with Lebanon and the need to provide the government with political and economic support to implement the required reforms.
