President Aoun meets Saudi Shura Council delegation
President Michel Aoun received on Wednesday at the Baabda Presidential Palace a delegation from the Saudi Shura Council headed by Saleh bin Manih al-Khilyawi in the presence of  Head of the Lebanese-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee Tammam Salam.

Discussions reportedly featured high over the bilateral relations.

During the meeting, President Aoun praised the brotherly relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, mainly the initiatives undertaken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, towards Lebanon and the Lebanese people.

He also praised the Saudi decision to lift the travel ban to Lebanon.
On another note, Aoun stressed the importance of the return of peace and harmony between the Arab countries.

For his part, Al Khalewi expressed happiness to head the first Saudi Shura Council delegation to Lebanon, conveying the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to President Aoun and the government.

He also underscored the "historic relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples," stressing the importance of their continuation and the support provided by the Kingdom to Lebanon and its stability.

He also expressed the Saudi citizens' relief in coming to Lebanon, especially in the summer season, deeming Lebanon as their second country.

He also spoke about "the Kingdom's plans through 2030 vision of the future" welcoming any role that Lebanon can play in this regard.
Al Khalewi concluded by praising the role played by President Aoun and his keenness on the Arab solidarity and harmony.
