MP Talal Erslan regretted the assassination attempt that targeted Minister Saleh al-Gharib on Sunday and the armed ambush that also targeted the convoy, where gunshots started pouring from all sides, leading to the death of two young men.
In a press conference held in Khaldeh, Erslan said that “what happened is a premeditated sedition planned two days ago.”
The Lebanese Democratic Party chief noted that the statement of the Higher Defense Council was decisive, voicing gratitude to President Michel Aoun and the defense council for the emergency meetings held to take the necessary measures.
He called for referring the case for the Judicial Council, stressing that the Aley incident will not pass unnoticed. He also urged the state to impose its authority and preserve the rights of the people.
