Sleiman says Jbeil is not a deprived region

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman said Tuesday that Jbeil is not a deprived region since it is rich with its people and references.

The President asserted that Lebanon was being renewed by regional events and that it would not be an arena for conflicts.

"The outside surrounding storms could be remedied, but the peril lies in the storms inside the country," he said.

Besides, Sleiman stressed on the immediate need to adopt the administrative decentralization law and voiced relief over the coexistence path in Jbeil.

On the other hand, Sleiman stressed on Tuesday the necessity that the dialogue committee convenes on August 16, at 11:00 am at Beiteddine Palace, the Presidential summer residence.

He reiterated that the dialogue table is the best place to raise various issues, discuss proposals and ideas, and where the main item will be the national defense strategy.
