MP Kanaan: We confirmed to Berri that we can reduce deficit by 7.59%
MP Ibrahim Kanaan said on Friday that the Parliament’s Finance and Budget Committee finished its entire work except the articles and allocations that were postponed.
“We expect that the budget to be approved in one session,” he added.
Kanaan’s comments were made after meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh whereby he said that Berri reiterated his full support to the work of the committee.
“We also confirmed to Berri that we can reduce the deficit by 7.59 percent if the government responded positively in the general assembly,” Kanaan added.
