Chouccair to LBCI: Telecommunication sector should be privatized
Minister of Telecommunication Mohamad Chouccair said on Tuesday that the decision to suspend last week Cabinet’s session was “wise,” adding that the country is witnessing a political activity to contain the crisis.
Chouccair’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show whereby he noted that the country’s economic situation is "very crucial," adding that the government is able to save the country.
“...and the government started to do so by approving the electricity plan,” he added.
As for the telecommunication sector, the minister stressed that privatization must be adopted in this sector.
Turning to the Budget dossier, Chouccair voiced approval to imposing taxes on gasoline, adding that such step reduces pollution and the number of vehicles that are being used daily.
