Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Saturday that Deputy Prime Minister Ghassan Hasbani represents the LF within the Finance and Budget Parliamentary Committee with a clear position, namely that “the improvements in the state’s Budget are not sufficient because a very different approach is needed."


“We must address basic issues, such as the involvement of the private sector in public institutions, dealing with illegal border crossings, taking measures against tax evasion,” Geagea said during an interview with "Radio Free Lebanon."
As for the invitation of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to a meeting to discuss the budget’s articles, Geagea said that "the budget will be endorsed as approved by the Committee submitted by MP Ibrahim Kanaan to Speaker Berri."

He called on Berri "to study the budget and to refer it to the Parliament’s Council Secretariat to be distributed to MPs before Tuesday."
He also said that the suspension of cabinet’s meetings is “a crime against Lebanon and the Lebanese people.”
On another note, Geagea said that “no one can face Israel except the Lebanese state.
“The state is stronger than all military forces,” he added.
