Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai presided over Sunday mass in Diman, where he said that "the government is prevented from meeting or constrained by the contradictory demands of politicians.”
He added that "the Government has the responsibility to take clear-cut decisions," calling on Lebanese officials to exercise wisdom and vigilance in the face of the dangers confronting Lebanon.
Referring in this context to the turbulence in the region, the economic risks threatening financial stability and the "Deal of the Century" aimed at naturalizing Palestinian refugees against their will, the patriarch recalled that politicians were not allowed to exploit the work of constitutional institutions for their desires and demands, and subsequently block their action.
