Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil met on Wednesday with Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Salim Sfeir.
Following the meeting, Sfeir said he briefed the minister on the Association's position vis-a-vis the recently approved state budget and preparations for the new draft budget 2020. Sfeir described the meeting as "positive", hoping that the "channels of communication will remain open to contribute to supporting the country's economy and creating new growth."
“Bassil is well aware of the demands of the banks and the needs of the country, and he is also aware of the fact that the time has come to create growth in the country to improve the living conditions and to realize the goals that facilitate life in the future on the economic level,” he added.
